US Airways (US/USA - U S Air)

The merger of US Airways and America West Airlines saw the end of the latter's existence, even though it is the overtaking entity. The name US Airways was kept and a new livery was introduced, taking a few elements of America West's livery design.

US Airways' relationship with Airbus is a pretty close one as the airframer was part of a bancruptcy relief plan that saw the airline order a number of Airbus aircraft in return. Perhaps for this reason as well, US Airways is one of the launch airline for the A350XWB. Here's an impression of the new aircraft in the airline's colors.

Prior to its merger, US Airways operated a fleet of Fokker F28-100s. Sadly, these fine looking birds were retired before it can wear the new color scheme.

What if US Airways 'bought American' in their narrow body orders? This will probably be one of the result. I have decided to go with a gentler sloping up at the aft of the fuselage rather than go with a sharper angle used on their Boeing 737-400s. The illustration also sports the new style 'door frame' paint as seen on the newer United 739s. Introducing the first newly rejuvenated Boeing 737 template.
