Air India has had a long and lasting history and is one of Asia's oldest airlines with a history spanning over 75 years. It has introduced its latest livery after two failed attempt at creating a new image for itself. The first was a rather uninspired design that was quickly shot down by the Indian public. The other was a shortlived one that never really flew as the company required a new design to reflect its recent merger with Indian Airlines. It was unveiled in May 2005 and was first seen on a Boeing 777-200LR.
Air India has placed an order for 8 of Boeing's 787-8 series, making it one of the long list of launch costumers for this very popular airliner. It is part of the airline's latest drive to improve the company and its fortune. This aircraft bear the name of the 7th highest mountain in India, after which their 707s were used to be named. Notice the 'extra' windows on the airplane that Air India sports on all of their aircraft type when there is extra space between the nearest window and a door.
