Singapore Airlines has been a true Boeing costumer, operating at least one type of each aircraft except for the B-717 and B-767. They are even one of the early customers of Boeings 747. Here are various Boeing aircrafts in the airlines' present colours.
Never was, never will be. But what if it were?
B 747-SP - 9V-SML / Minibus
The Boeing 757-200 is the last single aisle passenger aircraft to have served in the Singapore Airlines fleet. The illustrated aircraft drew the present scheme for only a short period before it was sold off and went to service for ATA. The Star Alliance logo was omitted as the alliance did not exist back then. The B 757-300 has been given the genus name for Praying Mantis, whilst the B 767-400 received the genus name for the Albatros.
B 757-200 - 9V-SGK
B 757-300 - 9V-SGM / Mantis
B 767-400 - 9V-STA / Diomedea
SIA's new single aisle?
B 737-800 - 9V-SQA / Skybus
Following the break up of Malaysia Singapore Airlines, SIA operated a fleet of B 707s and 737s. The aircraft stayed with the airline until the 80s for the Singapore Airlines Cargo division. Still in the passenger version, this aircraft wears the current colours plus the name Stratoliner, Boeing's first jetliner.
B 707-320B - 9V-BBB / Stratoliner
Keeping its fleet young and abreast of the latest technology has been Singapore Airlines' standard operating procedure. A candidate for replacing their fleet of Airbus A310s is the new Boeing 7e7. In keeping with tradition, these aircrafts has also been given a name - Skycruiser.
B 7E7-300 - 9V-SEJ / Skycruiser
B 7E7-900 - 9V-SDL / Skycruiser
Not really in the order book, but what if Singapore Airlines manage to score a coup in the marketing department and had Boeing paint the first B 787 in their colour?
B 787-812 - 9V-SIW
Special thanks to Kok Chwee SIM for letting me use his photograph.
With the advent of their Airbus A380s, Singapore Airlines introduces a new first class superior to their present first class seats (or so they say). What if that after consumer demands (or complaints due to un-uniform amenities) they decided to roll out the new products on their Boeing 747-400s? Here it is in the 'new' livery'. The First Class is in the nose of the aircraft and features a "raid the lader" facility on the starboard area aft of door 1. Both First and Business Classes have "lavatories with a view". Meanwhile, as a nod to the people flying this aircraft, a window has been left unblocked for the flightdeck personnel rest area. Btw., this is also the first time I'm using my updated B 747-400 template.
B 747-412 - 9V-SPA
Singapore Airlines operates a fleet of dedicated freighters under its subsidiary, Singapore Airlines Cargo. Operating several Boeing 747-400s, what if it was to acquire several of Boeing's latest offering, the 777-F.
B 777-F12 - 9V-SVC
On the Boeing order book is this bigger Dreamliner than ones being made today. No words yet on the engine choice. One wonders, though, what will happen to the A330s once these girls arrive.
